What this site collects on its own

Nothing. There is no analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no session recording. The site sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss. Typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.

The practical effect is that we do not know who reads this site, how often, or which pages you looked at.

What our host records

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare records standard server information when a page is requested, which typically includes your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent. That is Cloudflare's processing rather than ours, it happens for security and delivery, and we do not combine it with anything else or use it to identify you.

What you send us through the contact form

Only the fields you fill in. Two are required and the rest are optional:

Required: your name and your email address.

Optional: company, phone number, county or location, project size, and anything you write in the free text box. The form also records which discipline you chose and which page you started from, so we can answer in context.

When you press send, the form does not pass through this website. It goes directly to Web3Forms, a form-handling service, which emails it to us. They therefore see everything you typed, and like any service receiving a request they also see the IP address you sent it from. They pass it on and we read it in our own inbox. If you would rather not use the form at all, the email address on the contact page reaches the same people directly.

The one service we hand your enquiry to

Web3Forms receives contact form submissions and turns them into an email to us. They are the only third party involved in anything on this site, and they are involved only at the moment you press send. Nothing you do while reading these pages reaches them, or anyone else.

We chose a form service rather than building our own so that enquiries cannot quietly fail. If you would prefer that your enquiry never touches a third party, write to the address on the contact page instead.

What we do with it

We use it to answer your enquiry and to carry out the work if you ask us to. Nothing else.

We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not pass it to the affiliated companies described on this site without asking you first.

Enquiries are delivered to us by email through a transactional email provider, which processes the message in order to deliver it.

A note about commercially sensitive detail

The free text box invites you to describe what you are working on. We know that detail about an unannounced project, a site, a supplier or a transaction is commercially sensitive, and we treat it that way.

If you would rather not commit specifics to writing before we have spoken, send the outline and leave the rest. We can take it from there.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to maintain our own business records. If you would like us to delete what you sent, write to us and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Asking us about your information

Write to the address below and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to complete and no charge.

Children

This site is aimed at the owners, developers, operators and professionals who commission the work we advise on. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this page

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and update the date at the top. There is no version history, so the date is the record.
